Hey, I'm Joe!
I am a self-taught full-stack developer. After years of teaching myself various programming languages, frameworks, and all about the web, I decided to legitimize my knowledge and attend university. I am currently working toward my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Psychology.
I am developing an AI powered to-do app that automatically categorizes and schedules your to-dos. Unlike other to-do apps, this app focuses on simplicity, while providing automation. This allows users to focus more on "doing" and less time sorting out their lists.
Another project I developed was a community-based news website, featuring a WYSIWYG auto-saving document editor. The backend provides an API with user, posting, and rating systems.
While working retail, I created a custom inventory management application to help input new SKUs into our point of sale. I did this in my spare time, and it helped me and others process orders more efficiently on receiving day. It was a fun project involving web scraping, and botting, as I did not have an API to work with.
I am a Linux enthusiast and have shared my interest on my YouTube channel knary. I create tutorials and showcase software.
I am familiar with cloud technologies such as AWS as well as backend-as-a-service providers like Firebase. I develop websites primarily with VueJS because it is lightweight and full-featured. My mobile apps are developed with React Native and Expo. For backend development, my stack is typically comprised of ExpressJS, MongoDB, and Apollo GraphQL. I can pickup most web technologies in a weekend.
Apart from work and school, I spend my time making music. I play guitar, write songs, and produce music. I have a few sketches on my SoundCloud. I also love to camp, bake, I've tried my shot at poetry, I'm trying to get into fishing, and I'm an amateur photographer when I remember to take a picture.
